Disability-Led Research Study on the COVID-19 Response

The Johns Hopkins Disability Health Research Center is conducting a disability-led qualitative study to inform COVID-19 policy for the disability community. They are looking to recruit disabled people to participate in a research study of virtual focus groups discussing healthcare, accessibility and employment-related gaps in the COVID-19 response. See below for the study announcement, including information on how to participate and contact information.

The Legislative System

This page shows the legislation system that we advocate with, and would like you to assist in advocating along with us. Every voice counts. The offices of the Legislators will probably take your name, possibly your address and phone number. They may not write down everything, but make sure you state how you want the Legislator to vote, because this is what they keep track of. Each person that calls, counts as a certain number of the public to them, so you are representing more than yourself.

Personal Assistant Orientation Update

As a reminder we will be having our Personal Assistant Orientation on Wednesday, August 19th at 9am on Zoom. If you have not yet done your paperwork no worries! After you’ve attended the training please either mail it to us, or you can drop it off in our mailbox or vestibule.

New Video Lessons

Did you know that we recently began uploading our video lessons to YouTube?! We decided to do this so that it’s easier to find videos and share them with friends and family who may not be on Facebook, and so you can easily save lessons that you may want to look at again. We’re still working on getting some other videos up and creating new ones!
